Iliotibial Band Syndrome – Knee pain
PHYSIOTHERAPY AND ILIOTIBIAL BAND SYNDROME
Iliotibial Band Syndrome.
Lateral knee pain is not as common as pain on the front or inside of the knee.
In my experience, people with ITB syndrome, also suffer from poor lumbopelvic stability, and gluteal muscles that are not performing as they should.
Treatment provided would include a comprehensive assessment of abdominal and glute function, with pilates based exercises to improve strength in the relevant areas.
If you do suffer from any knee pain, see a physiotherapist to get a qualified diagnosis. Therefore ensuring appropriate management, and the correct rehabilitation program. As with many conditions, the sooner you seek treatment, the faster your recovery.
